With the TGN boys assessing their summer travel plans, we figured it would be high time to do an episode dedicated to how we travel with our watches (or don’t – in some cases). From how to pick the right watch for a trip to concerns like packing, the number of watches to bring, and even the looming threat of crime and danger, Jason and James get into the sometimes complicated reality of traveling with watches.
From the get-go, the boys chat about a special new Rolex Daytona for Le Mans and stay in the mix for a Final Notes that will have you tool-ready for travel and tuned in to a certain tour of France.

The Grey NATO – 243 – Traveling With Your Watches (Packing, Picks, Theft & More)
Great episode guys!! Would absolutely love a (long) episode with Watches of Espionage. I used to live and still frequently travel to London and never had any problems with my watches. Just a quick hop on the tube and pretty much every other person is rocking a steel Rolex. Same for LA & Paris. Bad things can happen anyewhere though, so just like James points out, being mindfull of how you may be perceived, wearing a long sleeve and rocking a NATO/rubber strap goes a long way. As is to not walk the streets while stuck on your phone.
I personally think the watch theft issue of over rated.
I just spent 5 weeks traveling across Europe from Istanbul to Paris. Walking neighborhoods drinking at late night bars and just enjoying g life while wearing my SD43.
Good situational awareness of where you are and who is around is a good thing to have no matter wear you are.
In Paris it seems like every other person was wearing a Rolex whiteout a care in the world.
